Turtle Cove Swim Academy offers year-round swim lessons for children 1 year and up in a warm, indoor heated pool.
We specialize in private (and sibling) swim lessons where parents don’t need to get in the water, giving your child focused, one-on-one instruction to build confidence and water safety skills quickly. Serving families in Nocatee, St. Johns, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, and Jacksonville.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Designed for new swimmers, our one-on-one swim lessons focus on building steady progression in the water. With a gentle, step-by-step introduction to stroke technique.
Have more than one child? We also offer sibling lesson options, making it easier (and more efficient) for families to get everyone swimming with confidence.

STEP UP SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Turtle Cove Swim Academy is proud to be an approved Step Up For Students provider. That means your child’s scholarship funds can pay for swim lessons — one of the most important life-safety skills a child can learn. We accept both PEP and FES-UA scholarships.
How to pay with your scholarship — 3 easy steps:
1. Log in to your EMA account at stepupforstudents.org
2. Go to Marketplace → Find Providers and search for Turtle Cove
3. Select your lessons and submit — Step Up pays us directly. Nothing out of pocket for you.
Direct payments typically process in about a week. No invoices, no reimbursement forms, no waiting.
What’s covered:
– Private Swim Lessons – 30-minutes (once or twice a week)
– Sibling Private Swim Lessons – 30-minutes (once or twice a week) This is our signature offering — pls text 904-871-9718 to get your specific day and time set up.
First lesson is FREE — try us before you spend a scholarship dollar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my Step Up For Students scholarship to pay for lessons?
Yes! Turtle Cove Swim Academy is an approved Step Up For Students provider. If your child has a scholarship, you can pay for swim lessons directly through your EMA account — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement.
Just log into EMA, go to Marketplace → Find Providers, and search for Turtle Cove. Not sure how it works? Text us at 904-871-9718 and we’ll walk you through it in two minutes.
Where are you located?
We are conveniently located in the Above Athletics Complex at 14797 Philips Highway, Suite 105, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
Do Guardians Have To Get In The Water?
Absolutely not! All lessons are given exclusively by our instructors. Guardian participation is not required in the pool.
However, for group classes, all students must now wait their turn by sitting on the deck rather than standing on the table in the pool.
Along with this safety practice we require one parent to sit poolside, within arm’s reach of their child if the child is age 5 or younger. Children can fall into the pool while waiting their turn; therefore, a parent must guard them during this time.
If you have siblings who need to be with you it is okay if they are on the deck sitting in our chairs or in their baby carrier.
What days are you open?
We are open seven days a week.
Does Turtle Cove require contracts?
No contract is required. However, we do require a strict 30 day cancellation notice.
Do you offer sibling swim lessons?
Yes, this is one of our signature offerings. Contact 904-871-9718 to set up your custom sibling swim lesson.
What qualifications do your Instructors have?
All instructors are certified through Swim University and hold active CPR, AED, and First Aid credentials.
Does my child need a swim diaper?
Yes — if your child is under age 3 or not potty-trained, they’ll need to wear a reusable or disposable swim diaper with a swimsuit or shorts over it. This helps ensure a clean and safe pool environment.
